My first year at the Wisconsin School of Business MBA program is finished! I turned in my take-home case study several weeks ago, and took time afterwards to unwind with family and friends for a few weeks before heading to Minneapolis to support the Consortium Group for Study in Management’s annual “Orientation Program”. While the year was certainly a long and arduous one, I feel that I have grown as a person and as a business professional. Speaking with family, friends, and my academic advisors got me thinking about my plans, and how I have a lot I want to accomplish this summer. I’ll spend most of my time working, but I also must begin the process of laying out the details of what I want to do after next year. Next year I will be looking at several different companies and regions of the US to live and work. I also need to lay out what things I will need to take with me going into the first semester, including— swimming lessons.
Yes— swimming lessons!
… In September, several of my cohorts and I will be participating in the Tough Mudder: Wisconsin Race outside of Milwaukee. My swimming is… sub-par (to say the least). So, I thought I’d take some swimming lessons while I am working this year. Not only is it a great skill to have, but it’s great exercise! I start in couple weeks.
I hope everyone has a wonderful, safe summer planned and I look forward to continuing to share tips and advice based on my MBA journey.
